We're definitely seeing things differently because I fully disagree.

If you look at each of Sony's gen, their first party games have changed/evolved while continuing with some of the same franchises.

PS1: Spyro, Crash, GT, etc..
PS2: GoW, Ico, SotC, Dark Cloud, Jak & Daxter, Sly, Killzone, Socom etc..
PS3: Uncharted, TLoU, Resistance, Infamous, Heavy Rain etc..
PS4: The Order, Until Dawn, Drive Club etc.. (gen's not over so more to come)

Whether you like some of those games are not it's not dull, it's diverse.

Out of the big 3, I'd say Nintendo would be the most "dull" as every Nintendo gen the majority you get is something Mario/Zelda/Smash/Kart/Party/Donkey Kong/Yoshi/Kirby.. and a bunch of other first party spin offs that uses the same group of mascots. Splatoon was definitely a breath of fresh air.

I'd use the word "dull" for something that's more predictable but one of the reasons many choose a Playstation console is because their library is not dull, first & third party games.
