Im only bringing it up as its stated by the OP which has now been edited as a joke. Gamers need to move away from the Claim and this 8.4TF or many will be disapointed when a 6TF machine can out preform a 8.4TF machine. Im considering buying one and someone already at my EB games store that works there told me it is also a 8.4TF machine to try to sell it to me. I just laughed in his face and told him, ill buy one soon but for the official 4.2TF. |
The Scorpio also has at least 12GB of much faster GDDR5X memory, so even if the Tflops was a thing (which is isn't) people are just getting their hopes up way to high, obviously a console that is aimed to be the most powerfull and releases a year after the ps4 pro will be faster.
Sony also made some decisions to not compromise excisting ps4 owners (not changing the amount of memory or CPU too much) which microsoft doesn't seem to be doing, they are pushing with no limits but apparently, if what the youtubers are saying is true, they made it quite easy to optimize for xbox one and scorpio (reviewtechUSA said this)
Anyway, the ps4 pro has always been GREAT for new buyers, but as an upgrade if its worth it we will see next year, since the games really taking advantage of this (NioH and Horizon look good) are still to come out. but a smart buyer would always wait untill we know the complete story on the Scorpio, price, get some first looks at the games running on it, but yeah, the 8Tflops thing is just adding some wood to the fire for people defending the ps4 pro's performance and ability
