They ported a PPC designed game to X86 then back to PPC on FFXI. I doubt there gonna have any problem porting PPC to another PPC based architech. They also state about the Next MMORPG which may have a title final fantasy if it does I think they would gain a lot of profit from a multi platform, due to the monthly fee once the base of the game is created expansion packs will work as if one is writen for all 3 systems.
And the reason i compared PS3 to dreamcast is because dreamcast fell due to having no exclusive/titles at launch and also fell because of lack of popularity due to bad marketing.
Don't get me wrong i own both a PS3 and dreamcast. I have to say sonic and dreamcast was far better graphics then any ps2 game that came out that year, though they fall later because of bad marketing.
I think PS3 isn't doing so geat atm about the marketing part but they seem to be getting better at it, i still think they will fall last because 360 seems to be faster and better with graphics, but who knows ps2 sucked when it first came out because people didn't know how to write code for the emotion engine chipset, but God of war looks quite amazing compared to earlier games. Maybe the Cell processor still has it touch on winning on being faster and better, though using rambus based ram it has also that small disadvantage since cpu and ram corspond together.
