Guess I'm just used to that living in the US. Since I've been alive I've seen many products shrink while their price goes up. Especially at fast food restaurants, pretty much everything is smaller and more expensive than it used to be.

I remember when the standard size for a jar of pasta sauce used to be 32oz now its down to 24oz. Not everything got smaller though the years though the standard size for a bottle of soda used to be 6.5 oz that changed when Pepsi introduced the 12oz bottle in 1936. |
Except for computers, electronics and non-premium phones it kept on happening the same here too, I can't speak for sure for others, but I feel people get mad when prices rise (or sizes shrink) too much compared to common people average income increase, so when common people purchasing power decreases.
