I had said before I felt like stuff like this was only going to actually help Trump gain more supporters and was part of the reason he won, which is why it shouldn't be the option of resorting to violence. If someone gets attacked like that literally the last thing I expect them to do is reconsider what they were originally thinking, instead they'll probably be even more hateful in retaliation and plant their feet firmer in what they believe rather than being open to listening to anyone else again. I realize it's not anyone's responsibility necessarily to explain or try to talk someone out of whatever their beliefs are but stuff like this will only fuel others and push them further away instead of being allies. 

Also at the time, as I think I didn't notice it as I was commenting on something else, I never realized how problematic this title is because there was no reason to specifically call them out as "black thugs" when if you wanted to call them thugs you could have just simply said thugs, it's not like their race in specific had anything to do with it. 

Edit: I'm editing this comment to rewrite it to better accurately portray what I meant to say at the time, as the original was poorly written.
