Lol, the entire European Union is on the brink of collapse. Anti-EU and Pro-Russia parties are gaining popularity by the year, don't be surprised if countries like France and The Netherlands have also voted on leaving the EU by this time next year. And how the fuck would an European Army even work with NATO? You'd have NATO and non-NATO countries all being a part of 1 army. If a country like Finland or Sweden (EU member but not NATO member) gets attacked, can you invoke NATO Article 5? And how would it work in offensive wars? Lets say the European Army goes to war against ISIS but 1 country says 'no' to that war, do you just pull out all soldiers and equipment from that country? |
Well they talked about it a couple of months ago with all the EU State Leaders - UK and are talking about it now here.
Nato has members that do not represent European values like Turkey for example. I would be all for leaving the Nato and growing closer together as EU.
It is not on the brink of collapse right now. Actually pro EU sentiments grew after brexit in many countries. Also I think an EU Military will be more of a defence Army and will not invade countries like the US does.
We will see how it goes in the next years with the EU. Either it collapses or it will become stronger.
