GTA IV won't stand a shot in the long run, but it will have a lead for some time, at least before Europe launch.

WW graph: http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=All&game1=Super+Smash+Bros+Brawl+-+Wii&reg2=All&game2=Grand+Theft+Auto+IV+-+X360&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=25

Looks great for GTA IV, but as it hasn't been supply constraint, the staggered launches of Brawl, makes this graph totally meaningless (exaggaration, but pretty useless at least.)

America: http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=America&game1=Super+Smash+Bros+Brawl+-+Wii&reg2=America&game2=Grand+Theft+Auto+IV+-+X360&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=25

SSBB had sold 2.9M after 4 weeks, GTA IV 360 had sold 560K more. GTA legs will be about the same as the legs Brawl had. Weekly: http://vgchartz.com/swlaunch.php?reg1=America&game1=Super+Smash+Bros+Brawl+-+Wii&reg2=America&game2=Grand+Theft+Auto+IV+-+X360&reg3=All&game3=&weeks=25&weekly=1

GTA IV 360 might even have a little lower legs, at least for the next 5 weeks.

In Japan, Brawl has a 1.7M lead, which GTA IV 360 will never make up for (at least minimally), but Brawl isn't likely to get much more than that anyway.

In Europe, GTA is likely to sell less than SSBB, due to the big userbase difference.

GTA IV and Brawl are fair comparisons, because they both launched before/after another in an important territory, and they equal each other out.
