I don't think I've ever made a political thread yet, and hopefully this will be my last one, depending on the out come of the election in the USA today.

This has been a very close election, and the out come isn't sure at all. None of the candidates seem to have a huge backing, and people are talking about voting for the "lesser evil" in both cases. I understand why you wouldn't vote for Trump, he's a lunatic, a mad man, a child in a mans body. There's so many things that's wrong with him. So I get why you wouldn't vote for him.

But Hillary? What is the deal with all the hate Hillary gets? Is it all about those emails? Or is there something else? I don't get it.

Can someone in a nice and civil matter please explain to me why people hate Hillary Clinton so much?

Because the Republicans have been running negative campaigns against her for over 20 years.  Virtually everyone on the Right associates that negativity towards her to varying degrees.

In addition to this, she isn't charismatic.  She comes across as highly insincere and she hasn't managed to define herself by a consistent set of pinciples.  Compare this to Obama, who stuck with a message of hope, change, and diplomatic cooperation.  Bernie was about income inequality.  It's hard to picture what Hillary is the champion of despite having 20 years to make that clear.

In short, she has allowed herself to be defined by her adversaries so her scandals hurt her more and her successes are more suspect.  If she was as charismatic as her husband, she could at least win hearts and minds on the Left, but she isn't charismatic.  General dissatisfaction with the status quo just makes the current environment a perfect storm against her likeability.
