The way I see it, the Uncharted saga could have been a success as a Netflix show, a trilogy of movies, a series of books, or even an animated show. The reason why Lara has not been elevated to the same level as Nathan could be because Tomb Raider does not have this same range and even though, Tomb Raider's gameplay is semi-open world, it actually feels more unidimensional from a narrative point of view. I'm not saying that the writing of the Tomb Raider reboot is awful, its actually pretty decent for a video game. But it falls short when compared to Uncharted. The Angelina Jolie movies, as entertaining as they can be, really didn't do much for the character's development. I even read some of the Tomb Raider books back in the day, they all felt like a video game on paper and suffered from the same sins of the media that they were drawing inspiration from, forgettable characters with little to none personality or effect on Lara's identity. Naughty Dog somehow manages to make video games feel like something more. And this is probably the reason why Uncharted is currently the best action adventure platform video game series to date.

I can kind of get behind this post.
I liked the original Tomb Raider series on PS1, hated it on PS2, loved the first reboot (Legend, Anniversary, and Underworld) and REALLY love the current re-reboot but I've never cared for TR in any other medium.
