I already said I wouldn't mind they not curating, but understand they doing it because it's their platform. Sure you can say that they could demand all patches being free and mandatory, but that certainly would go well with developers, don't you think? Dictatorship was what put Nintendo in the situation they were on N64.
Back on money, a lot of people that say their live "don't revolve around money" do a lot of things to earn more.
