Even more when we are talking about working and companies, the reason they do what they do is for a wage and profits, so working for free isn't the best idea to impose. So Sony leave it open, if company wants to do it without charge as a gesture of thank you for its customer they can, if they want to make a big improvement and charge for it they can as well. This patch could be the same as the remasters in the level of work, so why prohibit them from charging? The prohibition would only end up limiting what you could get on the patches.

I didn't say they should be imposed to work for free. I never said games should be updated to take advantage of Pro, which means no work is imposed. Other than that, I understand your point of view, but I don't really agree with it (at all). Following the same logic, I think Sony shouldn't even control what games get released on PS4. I mean, it should be up to the consumers to decide, no? If you want to curate what happens on your platform, there's no reason you can't curate updates as well (if that's what you want).

I'm happy that you don't need money to live, most people need it.

For me sony could live it free for others to publish whatever they want, but seeing how android can get caotic and psn being a private space I accept they decide what can or not be released. But what I'm saying is quite different, is that if you demand that any patch is free then most of them can decide not to make it, but guess what you are free to not pay for the ones they charge, so why would you complain about the possibility?
