If we are talking December alone then this is what we have to compare to:
Week ending 01st Dec 2007 to w/e 29th Dec 2007
Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
Total | 4,276,807 | 2,400,402 | 2,214,589 |
or this depending on when you view December
Week ending 08th Dec 2007 to w/e 05th Jan 2008: (same timeframe as NPD)
Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
Total | 4,043,835 | 2,332,111 | 2,093,650 |
I believe the Wii will see an increase comparable to it's incrase in supply (naturally) which is about 33%... and means about 5.5 million sales in December alone. (depending on which weeks are classed as December)
The PS3 is seeing increased demand and I think will see an almost comparable increase in percentage of 25, which should put it at about 3 million in December.
The 360 is generally having a better year than last, and it should see an increase over last years sales, but perhaps not quite as much, so December sales of around 2.5 million. (20% increase)
(Any of you counting will realise that PS3+360 = Wii)
Here is the 2007 data for the last 9 weeks ending December 29th (other wise known as November+December with a dash of October)
Console | Wii | PS3 | X360 |
Total | 5,978,721 | 3,397,174 | 3,208,277 |
Using the same percentages on these numbers gives us:
Wii - 7.95 million
PS3 - 4.25 million
360 - 3.85 million
which has the Wii at slightly less than PS360 combined.
