Haha, well the psvr unit can let 4K through but limited to hdmi 1.4
3840x2160 at max 30fps
No RGB support nor the improved color of modern 4K tvs
No HDR
So only 'useful' if you have a 4K tv that's over 2 years old.

Anyone who doesn't want to swap cables and has a spare $160 laying around, this is what you need

Or you could hire someone to swap it for you.

I've never had it happen but I'm afraid I could break an HDMI port if I swap too often. I may even up going that route if HDR turns out to be worth the effort.

You don't need to worry about that. I use my ps4 in the living room and on my projector downstairs. I carry it back and forth almost daily. (Kids want to play upstairs, I play at night downstairs). So that's 3 years of cable swaps without any issues.
Of course since psvr, the swapping happens on the additional box, I don't expect any issues there either. I've got the box on top of the ps4 to make carrying all the bits up and down the stairs a bit easier. Another reason why I want the pro, kids can play on the old one upstairs, I'll keep the pro in my game room :)
