And that's surprising why? PS4 version of Atelier Sophie sold better at first too: 02./00. [PS4] Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book # (Koei Tecmo) {2015.11.19} (¥7.344) - 30.759 / NEW By the end of the year they were closer, PS4 still slightly ahead though: 145./000. [PS4] Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book # (Koei Tecmo) {2015.11.19} (¥6.800) - 46.893 / NEW (30.759 <77,52%>) So... I'm not shocked that the sequel is likely to see exactly the same behaviour? Since we're pushing this point I thought we'd dropped though, why didn't you share the other news from the Media Create thread that you're taking this information from?
Dengeki, retail software sales for the year so far:
So all this doomed talk yet software is still up YoY. Yes, it's not going as quickly as PS4, but it's still not in the position where support is going to be yanked any second like you're making it out to be. |
The trend didn´t start recently, it just became more pronounced in the past months, Atelier Firis is just another very recent example, of a PS4 version perfprming better. No one is in denial about the fact that 3DS is about to be replaced in support focus among Nintendo systems and has less releases, it will still end up with at least ~12-14m units of software sold this year and next year the focus will be on Switch, with the obvious consequences. I guess the difference is obvious. PSV will end up this year with at best only 5-7m software sold in Japan, and next year the most reasonable prediction is to expect considerably less from already low software sales.
