We'll find it all out in a few days, so let's wait and see.
I take it from the interview they want to play it safe and make sure no new bugs appear on older games that they didn't have time to test, but this literally can be changed at the flip of a button.
Full honesty though, if it turns out they will impose downclocking and shut down half of the GPU for everyone, that would be the single most idiotic thing I have ever heard in the games industry. At the very least the option should be given to the users to try playing the games on pro mode at their own risk.
