Any footage of this?

- Link removed -

Being asked to google stuff for someone on the internet is annoying.

I'm sorry, I've googled and I haven't found any comparison videos in 1080p mode. I apologize if I annoyed you... Don't know what happened to the link you posted, but I guess I shouldn't ask you to post it again...

Sadly I think (checkerboard) 4k will be much more common because it's easier to market and probably to implement as well. If you're adding graphical effects, you have to create something new. That's not the case with simply increasing resolution.

I absolutely agree. Third parties have better things to do than put lots of time and effort into Pro specific versions.

So Sony knows the PS4 Pro is kind of a fuck you to those who bought or are about to buy an original PS4, but if those people only realize after the launch of the Pro, then it's okay? That's kind of shady.

It isnt. Better tech is better tech, and it has been 3yrs anyway.

But to be leading a marketing campaign saying g look how much better even 1080p games will be is like saying fuck you even tho it didn't cauee the PS4 is $100 cheaper.

It just makes more sense to market the things that makes the consoles different.

Not sure I can agree with you on that, but I understand your view point. Marketing it as 4K, is more focussed and understandable.

I get what people are saying in regard to Sony's message of the PS4 Pro.

But at the same time it doesn't help me in considering to buy it since I don't know if it's worth dropping another $400 on it.

Also, I'm not sure what the implications are in the increased hardware. I can see how the increased power gets used in native, checkerboard, or temporal injected 4K since it's a demanding resolution and process. But for 1080p, is the Pro's power being used up in just super-sampling? I mean Uncharted 4 is getting super sampling, better shadows and better texture filtering, so no 60fps is understandable since it's current 1080p upgrades might be equivalent to the 4K resolution rendering. But take for example Rise of the Tomb Raider. It's getting two 1080p settings: 1080p 60fps but keep same graphics, and 1080p 30fps with better graphics (supersampling). I think the Pro's hardware allows for 60fps with some improvements in graphics, or, more than just supersampling (take Uncharted 4 for example).

And just today, Ratchet & Clank got Pro support. 4K temporal injected, or 1080p super sampling.

My point: is 1080p super sampling all the Pro can do, and is it equivalent in "using up" the hardware as 4K rendering? I have my doubts.

This is what bothers me as well. It's difficult to have an informed opinion on whether the pro is worth spending money on if your only have a 1080p, when we barely have any footage that shows what it's capable of compared to the regular PS4
