I care to a degree, but it all relates to diminishing returns.
Last generation enjoying the PS3 and Xbox 360's graphical showcases did not prevent me from enjoying Skyward Sword on Wii.
Having said that, its incredibly jarring going back to a retro game for anything other than brilliant gameplay. The latter being why I still have a great time running Pokemon on a 3DS for example.
