And it seems to be... false. Couldn't find anything remotely supporting this claim. TurboExpress had a TV Tuner, like the GameGear.

It was a handheld that played home console games identically. There weren't specific Turbo Express games.

 

However, you could argue that the game gear did this first with the Master Gear.
