To be fair, as much as I love Oblivion and consider it vastly superior to Skyrim, it's not like you had meaningful choices to make in it, either. The Elder Scrolls in general is a franchise that lacks meaningful choice in the name of the main narrative (sure, you can go wherever you want and do "whatever" you want, but that's been the extent of it ever since Daggerfall). Complaining about it makes no sense, since it's never been a staple on the franchise's roots. There's plenty of RPGs that allow you to make choices, and if you want them you can play them. If Bethesda considers that choices shouldn't be meaningful either in the next Elder Scrolls, then so be it, because it's not like they were there in the first place.
