I guess ultimately, I'd pick Final Fantasy. But Dragon Quest is definitely more consistent. The best Final Fantasy games are better than the best Dragon Quest games. But the worst Final Fantasies are MUCH worse than the worst Dragon Quest games. And I respect Dragon Quest for continuing to fly the flag and sticking to their roots. In my opinion, of course.
