I think this sums it up nicely.
But to humor you, what do you expect happens if for some reason those are alien signals? What would change? Gonna pack your bags and travel a few thousand lightyears to say hello to some civilization that most likely doesn't exist anymore?
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
