Ok. I checked the site and it's true that the Radeon Pro 460 is no RX 460. The desktop card has 2 less CUs, 16 vs 14, but it has a higher memory bandwidth and it runs at a higher frequency, allowing it to give 2.15 TFlops compared to the 1.86 TFlops of the Pro 460. And the other two models are even lower than that. But I doubt any (serious) user that (really) needs to make use of a workstation GPU will choose a laptop to begin with, so... I don't really see the point of it. |
As far as i know It's probably lack of performance this year, if only Radeon Pro 470 was arrived with more CUs, higher frequency & of course low TDP at least 45W for goddamn battery life & USB-Type C power adapter, then it would have been no problem, so, yeah, it's pretty dissapointing, this is just beginning.
The same happen for Microsoft Surface all-in-one pc, that features dated GPUs, GTX 900M series. I'm not sure why, i'm guessing they're waiting for refreshed Pascal next year for better performance & power effiency in the same time.
Again, overall.. Just skip those & wait "much" longer. lol >.<
