It's unfortunate that Street Fighter V has not been able to build any kind of momentum despite having updates.

Kinda weird since games like Splatoon applied similar tactics in terms of building content through updates as the game evolves over-time. Splatoon is one of this gen's great stories as it sold incredibly and has had incredible legs for a new IP, even dominating Japan to the point where fans are wondering if any console game (including FFXV) could even match it's JP LT sales.

Anyway, hope that Capcom can find a way to get this game out there beyond the hardcore fans. I heard it has great gameplay, but the features just weren't there initially.

I think it's because SFIV was amazing and gave a lot of expectations for SFV to improve, whether if it's small or huge improvements. In splatoon's case fans were simply happy to see Nintendo freshen up and create a new IP that's as memorable as the legends(DK, kirby, etc). Of course as time goes on the sequels will have higher expectations.
