If it's coming to android, it won't be long before other devices such as Chromecast, Firestick etc start having it

Once it's firmly established, I can See Sony having their own dedicated channel with their own programmes and films on there. Imagine Crackle, but with proper financial backing.

I Think Sony might become the first major IPTV service player and if they can get their shit sorted, they may even lead the world in it.

Not sure how much Sky and Virgin make since Sky make tons by selling Broadband, TV and telephone packages, have their own channels and their subscription service. Virgin has phone, broadband, cable and ppv packages.

Sony at the moment only offers IPTV meaning you still have to take out broadband with someone else.

Those all alrwady have it. The only platforms that currently dont have it are PC, Mac, Web OS, Tizen and Linux. Android TV just got support now.

And by all indications, Sony seems to be on track to become the biggest IPTV service provider and with the speed they are expanding itoes seem they have got their shit sorted.

just this year alone they came outta beta, added Roku tv support to already existing IOS, Amazon devices, Chromecast, PS4 and PS3, added HBO and in a way that makes it better than people that just subscribe for HBO go (cause with the one subscription in vue you get HBO go and the HBO live feed too) and now just added Android tv with PC and Mac coming this year.
