You see, that is what you are saying to me.  If you think an OP or posting party is wrong, it is you that needs to bring links or supporting info to the party.

The burden of proof is usually on the one who makes the initial claim. It's the same line of logic as "innocent until proven guilty", etc. People have to prove their own claims right, not others wrong. In this instance you'd struggle though, since calling out users not involved in a discussion isn't aloud :p

Now personally, yes, i have seen examples of what you describe (PlayStation fans whose position on IQ has shifted with the Pro and Scorpio). I've likewise seen a proportionally similar number of instances of Xbox fans shifting their position too though. That you don't acknowledge that in your initial post kind of undermines the point, at least in my eyes.
