I should add, in Ireland the Catholic church here has taken some major bad steps towards remaining relevant with the community, with our referendum on Gay marriage they really tried their hardest to tear people back into their fold with a lot of hate talk and it absolutely blew up in their faces here, even some elderly people I know in their 60-80s stopped going to Sunday Mass because of what it turned into, really that vote here slapped two things, dislike of Gay people and the Church got a massive hit because of their support of the other side.

So.  I'm not talking about the Ireland Catholic church.  And even you said, "I'm not saying it's always the case of course..."

But you still have't answered my question: "Do you live by these rules?  Is this what you preach to others? "
