Well this isn't true. its just marketing introduced at a time when a competitor is looking to have a huge advantage over its current offering. I don't get how they can be pushing the Slim Xbox One and then trying to tell people not to buy the Pro at the same time... because of power.

In the end its just marketing and there is no reason to expect Microsoft to be 'truthful' with their advertising. I mean that number on console in America ad shows just how far they will go. I think their fans tend to like when Microsoft makes these statements as well because to them, even if it isn't true, it show them that Microsoft is dedicated to staying relevant at all costs.

Case and point, the PS4 Pro releases in about 2 weeks. it supports 4k. It supports high quality VR. It is only $50 more than Microsoft's 1TB offering and its over 3x as powerful. There is no Scorpio to purchase and it is still more than a year away. I have never seen a company try so hard to set the narrative when their product isn't even available for another year.

I think their advertising is one of their biggest cringe worthy attributes. Its about content not power. Look at PSVR. The Rift has higher resolution but PSVR has better content and has crushed all competition in a single day. By the same token, I don't trust Sony because I see what they are doing to Microsoft. I predict that if Scorpio is 499, we wills see Pro VR combos for 499 next year as well.
