"bad"gimmick would be something like motion controls or second screen gameplay, because that would change the game design and we don't want that anymore, at least not for a third time. Here, we have different options of functionality, that's the gimmick, functionality. But the games are not based on gimmicks, you can play breath of the wild with the pro controller, the joycon controllers (detached or together) on your tv or on the tablet, but, it's the same game. You don't have to swing the wii remote, guide kirby with a stylus or look at the second screen, it's pure gameplay with different options.
now tell me why I'm wrong and why I'm a Nintendo fangirl.
