Not sure why anyone would find this practice as criminal?
Sounds like paying to play/demo the PSVR isn't something you are into. Which is perfectly okay. Inversely, I think it's perfectly okay for GAME (or any other retailer, business or enterprising individual) to rent the use of the PSVR to those who would be into it.
I personally wouldn't pay that to play the PSVR, but each to his/her own.
