Yep. I'm expecting the dock to activate the active cooling mechanism and increase the clock/performance of the hardware within the actual NS itself. The dock will want to be very cheap as it will be included in the base bundles, after all this is a home console first and foremost, but they will need to upscale the video to 1080p. So expect the dock to not have any special CPU/GPU but instead turn on the active cooling and overclock the system.
3hr battery life is kinda bad. That is even worse than what 3DS originally had when you turned 3D off.
Touchscreen seems obvious. I think they didn't want to show that as they are trying to keep the message simple. At this point, the message is focused on the ability to switch between home and portable functionality.
2017 reveal will focus on games and then show off any other functionality such as touch (menus), apps (android), NFC (amiibo), motion (just dance), force feedback, and VR (think how phone vr works).
