Why do we even need the dock by the way? Couldn't it just have been through a cable? Or some wireless dongle? This whole thing is just a bad idea.
If I'm a handheld gamer I'm paying for a useless dock, if I'm a home console gamer I'm paying for a useless screen. If I'm playing and going away I'll go away for a reason that probably requires me to stop playing games anyway so that 'never stop playing' aspect is also pointless, and even if I would continue playing I probably wouldn't want to carry around a backpack worth of appendices for this thing. It's just a bad idea, they should just have made a couple of different devices of different strength, formfactors and pricepoints that worked seemlessly together and be, like Iwata once said, "like Apple".
