Wii Fit is rapidly becomming the most popular add on device for a console ever, and if Nintendo is REALLY lucky over the next 5 years Wii Fit will catch up to the current userbase of the Wii and will have a handful of third party games developed for it every year.
Add on devices rarely become successful on any real level, and they really can't have a negative impact on a system which has that device as standard hardware.
