Why would I not buy day one things that I know I'm gonna enjoy? I just preordered FFXV and WoFF. I don't think there is anything inherently wrong or stupid about it. If you're gonna be disappointed then it's your own problem to deal with and either learn or not learn from it.
While preorder culture has led to some terrible consequences for consumers it's not yet bad enough to stop myself and miss out on day one bonuses.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
