1920*1080 = 2,073,600 2715*1527 = 4,145.805 Ok I was wrong 1527p, it's like 99.5% more pixels than 1080p. Still what difference does it make? And why would rendering at 1527p be useless? Please educate me, as I see you know a lot about hardware and stuff. |
Because scalers have algorithms optimized for specific set resolutions, the Playstation 4 is upscaling it's games after the initial rendering is completed, checkerboard or not.
You would also be better using two 1080P frames (Checkerboard) or 2560x1440 and then throwing more Anti-Aliasing at the problem.
A higher-resolution isn't always better if it means you need to make compromises somewhere else.
