There is zero indication that :
-Nintendo cares about performance. The GCN was the last time they even tried to make something in the range of their competition (between PS2 and Xbox OG)
-Nintendo feels that they can compete with Sony/MS for the major multiplats
-Nintendo feels they can sell an expensive device
-That they want to produce a traditional device. It's always based on some gimmick that nobody else is focused on since GCN, be it dual screens, motion controls, tablet controller, whatever.
-That it will line up with any level of the competition in architecture. IOW, don't expect 8GB ram, 8-Core x86 CPU, or other elements which would allow easy porting even if they wanted to try and woo 3rd parties.
My take is that it will be some oddball device in the $249 range that will play Nintendo's main IPs, with some strange features that nobody else has, and with performance somewhere in the range of OG X1 to OG PS4 roughly, but not exactly due to the different architecture.
