The Atari actually had a lot of really fun games, most of them being the kind you could understand quickly. In fact, we hooked up an old Atari 2600 at the skatepark and kids who had never seen one before were loving it. Defender, Yars Revenge, Super Breakout, games like that were simple yet challenging. E.T. was not one of them. I tried many times to understand the game but it was just so muddled that I never did. It deserves to be known as one of the worst games ever. It wasn't alone, though. Some developers released broken games with nice box art in order to fool people, as there was really no way to know what you were getting. I was pretty young--the Atari was actually meant for my older sisters--but I would plead with my mom to buy something from the bargin bin. At the point my dad bought the Atari, the industry was crashing and everywhere had bins of cheap games on clearance. Some of those games were really good. However, I ended up with the single worst game I've ever played, as well. I never understood ANYTHING about it.

Yeah, I feel I've heard a lot about the good and bad sides with the atari, I think a lot of it from AVGN. He may mostly talk about bad games and how awful some of the Atari games were, I think I got picture of how the Atari 2600 was during its run.
Also, I think I get the idea of Bugs. You... shoot the spray can thing and it explodes, killing all the bugs and lizard, right? That's what I think I got. It looks pretty confusing though. I'm not even sure what was happening, haha.
