This promotes people who are just gonna hate to just keep on hating without ever picking it up. Only had 2 or 3 hours and on it myself nor do I own it yet however I still feel you could have made a balanced thread rather than a one sided blasting of it, if you are like me and you think this tech is great then not only critique it but do so in a balanced manner to avoid ViRgins to have a look at the good and the bad. Because:
A. I know how the internet works, first impressions thread is not getting any discussion going.
B. Yes, I am low balling the experience, yet even at its 'worst' it still is the best I have experienced since playing Doom for the first time. I think I made that clear in the OP :)
The biggest problem with VR is that it has to be experienced to be believed. And even 5 minutes at a trade show will not give you the full experience.
Pro's: Games come to life, feel as large as life. Standing or sitting right next to a game character is awe inspiring. It feels real. Not much else needs to be said, you are transported into the game. And this time it's not marketing hype as in you are the controller etc. You are right there, want to look in a pipe, inside a building, under a bridge, just do it. The possibilities for hiding collectables are endless lol.
I have to force myself to go to bed before 3am, while before I couldn't keep my eyes open after midnight while playing on my projector. It's like digital crack in a good way. I haven't smiled so much while playing games since SotC!
