At the same time, some ps4 titles have lengthy updates before you can play online so it's almost like being in the same boat.

Lately, I just let games on either console fully install and update. It's just easier that way. And I've been more of a digital gamer these days anyway. I haven't bought a disc since Valkyria Chronicles on ps4.

You know the thing I can't stand, when you boot into a PS4 game which turns out to need it's patch to connect to servers, say I accidentally opened Star Trek online without patching it, so I get a main menu, which tells me it needs to be patched to go online, Click X to confirm or O to cancel.... like pressing X just retries logging in with a version which doesn't work and press O and it loops to the same message again, just hounding you with it in a loop til you press the ps button and exit the game fully from the menu. Fucking stupid system if a game is online only it should be a case of "Hey you really need that patch bud, I'll close the game for you and you can apply it if you want with a press of X or you can just close the game with a press of O" would be so much less annoying than a loop of "YOU NEED THE PATCH, X TO OKAY THIS FACT, O TO NOT OKAY THIS FACT, BOTH OF WHICH WILL TELL YOU ABOUT A PATCH."

Tee hee how long do you sit there pressing X and O for? Please say it's like 5 whole minutes.
