Higurashi and Umineko are both also games. They are visual novels. I never played the Higurashi visual novel, I did do the umineko one since I was really interested after the anime. You make no decisions or choices (you literally just read) until you get to the very final VN. At which point it is suddenly like an actual game where you make choices. I think it was almost like a test to "see" if you've solved it etc. Any of the girls could have had a machete. That is one of the themes of the anime/manga. That basically anyone can go crazy for any reason. The best part? There is an "answer season" where they actually explain everything and you go "omg it makes sense". Another is quite good. Some blood and gore, creepy through out it. The story made me stick through it though. I wanted to know all the answers. |
Ah, I didn't know Higurashi was also a game. I thought it was an anime 1st.. The Umineko sounds kinda strange in that it sounds like you're reading a book rather than playing a game...
Higurashi sounds interesting, and I would like to check it out some time. How long is the series? Also, the machete girl I was talking about looks like this.

I'm not sure how significant this is, but she's what comes to mind on the series.
Also, I'd def like to check out Another as well. I like a good mystery.
