I'm a PS4 and Xbox One user.
A lot of ps4 games that I own let you play almost instantly. A handful of Xbox One games have allowed the same BUT when I uninstall them and then reinstall them later, they take much longer (ie Sunset Overdrive let me play in five mins the first time but when I played it on my second XBO, it took over an hour!)
At the same time, some ps4 titles have lengthy updates before you can play online so it's almost like being in the same boat.
Lately, I just let games on either console fully install and update. It's just easier that way. And I've been more of a digital gamer these days anyway. I haven't bought a disc since Valkyria Chronicles on ps4.
