If so then why are Canvas Curse, Epic Yarn, Mass Attack, and Rainbow Curse allowed? They're just as much spin-off as Air Ride, a game which I definitely want to include in my list.

Because they are fundamentally still Kirby games, just with a different playing style (ie. drawing on the screen to move Kirby around)

..and also, because Wikipedia and Kirby Wiki says so
