Double Dragon (1987) Bomb jack (1984) Solomons key (1986) Gunsmoke (1985) Ghosts 'n Goblins (1985) Ikari (1986) 1942 (1984) Track & Field (1983) And lots of other..  "insane big in the arcade" was not made by Sega.. Companys like Capcom.. SNG.. Tecmo.. Technōs.. Konami also made high quality games.. (just saying :) )

(Sega gave us the Master System.. and won me)

 

The point of the thread isn't about the quality of the games per se, but about the quality of their technical aspects. None of the games you mentioned were technical marvels the way Sega games were.
