All androids are basically iPhones minus the home button as all smartphones have centered on the same basic design mold. Honestly, the only reason people are calling out hte Pixel to be similar in looks to iPhone is due to the antenna bands. Yes that is very similar, but beyond that the characteristics are virtually identical to every other smartphone maker. I guess Pixel has buttons on opposite side as iphone/galaxy line. idk... at this point I don't see why anyone calls out one phone looking similar to another.
Not sure what you're talking about regarding the power button. The three year old Moto X had the same placement and that was designed by Google during the time Google owned Moto. I don't think this button placement is unique to any Android manufacture.
