I'm bored by phones by now. They don't differ much (flagships, that is) but people and developers act as if they always create something new and amazing. They even all look the same. Every flagship phone has the same shape, hardware buttons and those brighter stripes to make it look nice but every single flagship has them and at the very same spots.
Why should I care about any of these phones when they only differ marginally? Why don't companies care anymore? How should I be able to build brand awareness when it's just "phone" that I see at a glimpse instead of "Google", "Samsung", "HTC", "Apple"?

(btw don't get all techy now as 98% of phone users are totally not into tech and don't even notice the marginal differences when it comes to voice quality, picture details or whatever)

The only good thing about this is that Google can show the world how to properly build an android phone and use it cleverly, not just based on some prototypes. But they somehow fail to use that for their marketing. Probably that's the key after all, to avoid people noticing Google is getting a bit more of their lives now :P

For something truly unique, you should check out Moto Z and its add-ons. Had the US variant had the Play version as an unclocked option, I would likely have gotten that vs a Pixel.
