Yes, it's pretty easy. I say it's a huge issue because they didn't informed anyone or put on the manuals, so you could do that accidentally. As soon as the box/manual clearly states that it can be on sunlight, it's good to go.
If it however can really be damaged in a few minutes, then that's an issue, simply because any distraction and a couple hundreds of dollars are gone.
