Ok, guys. I'm on the seven day trial period from Friday of last week. Here are my current experience with PlayStation Vue.
-Compared to DirecTV, the sound quality of more robust and clearer.
-Compared to DirecTV, the picture quality is just a little more vibrant, and it might be a hair better in detail. The vibrancy I'm sure of. I hope it's not my imagination in regards to the detail.
-When the picture first appears, it's on the soft side but sharpens shortly afterwards.
-The menu guide has the stations in alphabetical order across the top of the screen.
-The search function works the same as on the PlayStation Store, making it easy to find a show.
-When accessing the menu guide, it takes a longer than I would like for the channel listing to show up.
-It's obvious Sony had the Dual Shock layout out in mind as the remote controller. As long as you don't mind holding the controller with both hands, access to features do feel quite streamlined. I was able to used the PS3 Bluetooth remote and my Sony TV remote to control the PlayStation Vue interface.
-I had both Netflix and PlayStation Vue streaming to two different TVs with no degradation of quality.
This is certainly different than conventional Satellite, but so far it feels much better. My biggest fear is probably the unknown. I'm just about to pull the plug on DirecTV. I probably just have to get used to using PlayStation Vue as if it's second nature.
