It's not just sharing your phone screen on a bigger monitor, it's adding/removing/resizing/etc. to adjust for a PC-like experience. And you can run the same app on the phone, using the same data, just adapted for a mobile screen and input options. I've got a Lumia 950 XL and use this functionality.
