North Americans are full of their "first world problems", living in China or India or South America would probably be an eye opening experience for a lot of people. Even Europe I think would be shocking for some people (say bye bye to houses the size of a football field) and paying out the ass for something the size of a cardboard box in the UK and much higher taxes. 

As someone who has lived in several European countries and China, I couldn't agree more. But hyperbole is so common that this doesn't surprise me one bit.

You gotta be kidding me if you are suggesting that people live better on USA than on Europe, sure some places on the country are better than some places of Europe, but several European countries are above USA in every sense that it matters to a citizien, from social servers to level of happiness. Modern USA is one of the most overrated places to live ever, only really good for the rich, bigger houses don't make it a better country to live.
