I think they are saying that its powered by the werid thing on the back of the straps.. which may be a small gpu and or processor... Also, and most importantly, what about battery power... perhaps the burning sensation of a hot battery on the back of your head is a mechinism to help reduce over exposure to VR by forcing you to take the damn thing off lol.
