It depends on how long it takes for VR to become mainstream enough to where most people can afford to get it. Right now for PSVR that's already going to cost around $800-900 just to use it. (PS4/PS4 Slim/PS4 Pro = $300-$400, PSVR = $400, PS Camera = $60 which are all required at minimum for it to work, then $20 for a game and then plus tax). It also depends on if VR is even going to become a big thing in the future, it could just sizzle out like motion control did.
It also highly depends on if Sony is just going to drop support for it quickly if it doesn't sell as well as they want it to like with the PS Vita.
